The Achik State Peoples’ Front (ASPF) has formally appealed to the state government to accelerate the release of long-overdue sanction orders pertaining to Science and Hindi grants. This pressing request also extends to ensuring the punctual disbursement of teacher salaries via the Megh-SIMS portal, a system designed to streamline such financial operations. This plea underscores a critical concern for educators across the state.
Bernita Marak, the General Secretary of the ASPF, articulated these urgent matters in a letter addressed to the Commissioner & Secretary of the Education Department. Marak highlighted the severe financial hardship faced by teachers due to the protracted delays in securing essential operational funds. For many educators, their monthly remuneration is the sole source of income supporting their families, making timely payment absolutely crucial for their livelihood and well-being. The current delays are causing significant financial distress, impacting their ability to meet basic needs and plan for the future.
The organization specifically implored both the Directorate of School Education and Literacy and the State Education Mission Authority to promptly process and issue these pending sanction orders. Such bureaucratic delays impede the smooth functioning of educational institutions and place undue burdens on the teaching staff. The ASPF’s intervention aims to cut through red tape and ensure that funds allocated for specific educational initiatives, such as those for Science and Hindi grants, are released without further deferral.
Furthermore, the ASPF stressed the importance of ensuring that all salary components, including base pay, are credited directly and without interruption into individual teacher accounts or, where appropriate, into school management accounts. This seamless credit transfer should be facilitated through existing digital platforms, promoting transparency and efficiency in financial transactions. The emphasis on digital platforms aims to minimize manual processing and potential delays, ensuring that teachers receive their rightful earnings in a timely and reliable manner.
