The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the provisional answer keys for both the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 examination and the ICAR AIEEA (PG) and AICE JRF/SRF (PhD) 2026 examinations today, August 16, 2026. This significant announcement was made via official notices published on the NTA’s respective examination portals, providing a crucial opportunity for candidates to assess their performance. Aspirants can now visit these dedicated examination portals to access their provisional answer sheets and the recorded responses they submitted during the tests. This immediate access allows for a direct comparison between their marked answers and the officially provided keys, paving the way for the objection submission process if any discrepancies are identified.
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 examination, a computer-based test (CBT), was meticulously conducted across two days, July 17 and July 18, 2026. This examination is designed to assess candidates across five broad scientific disciplines: Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences. Each paper was three hours in duration and structured into three distinct parts. Part A uniformly evaluated general aptitude skills, while Parts B and C delved into subject-specific knowledge. Notably, Part C featured higher-value analytical and research-oriented questions, demanding a deeper understanding and critical thinking from the candidates. A key differentiator for the CSIR-NET examination, when compared to the UGC NET, is the implementation of negative marking, with deductions varying based on the specific section and subject.
With the provisional answer key and individual response sheets now accessible, candidates are afforded a limited window to challenge any answers they believe to be incorrect. This objection period is anticipated to last for approximately two to three days, with the NTA stipulating the precise closing time. Following a thorough review of all valid objections, the NTA will then finalize the answer key. The subsequent release of final scorecards and merit lists is projected for the last week of August 2026. These comprehensive results will delineate eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor positions, categorizing successful candidates accordingly.
Concurrently, the provisional answer keys for the ICAR AIEEA (PG) and AICE JRF/SRF (PhD) 2026 examinations have also been released. These examinations, conducted via CBT on July 4, 2026, serve as the primary admission gateway for postgraduate and doctoral education within the extensive ICAR system. The AIEEA (PG) paper, for instance, comprised 120 multiple-choice questions, totaling 480 marks. Each correct answer earned four marks, while an incorrect response resulted in a deduction of one mark. Similar to the CSIR-NET process, candidates for the ICAR examinations can submit online challenges to the provisional answers during the stipulated objection period. A non-refundable processing fee will be applicable for each question challenged. The final ranks and detailed score reports for these agricultural programs are also expected by the last week of August 2026, after which the crucial counselling and choice-filling phases will commence for admissions.
