The 31-year-old actress, recognized for her diverse roles, was arrested after a reported altercation within a reserved AC coach. She was subsequently granted bail, shedding light on the details surrounding the event.

The incident, which transpired on August 12th, occurred as Banerjee was en route to Surat for a professional shoot. Reports indicate that despite possessing a sleeper-class ticket, she was present in an AC coach, leading to a dispute over seating arrangements. This disagreement reportedly escalated, necessitating the intervention of railway officials and personnel from the Railway Protection Force.

Banerjee’s career trajectory showcases her journey from television to film. She commenced her acting endeavors with a debut in ‘Gumrah: End of Innocence,’ marking her entry into the competitive entertainment industry. Following this, she appeared in the crime series ‘Savdhaan India.’ Her cinematic debut came in 2014 with ‘The Shaukeens,’ where she played a cameo role. Her prominence grew significantly after portraying Pinky Ahlawat in the popular &TV series ‘Badho Bahu,’ which aired from 2016 to 2018.

The specific details of the incident on the Aravali Express, as reported by Sunday Guardian Live, indicate that the confrontation unfolded between Borivali and Dahanu, roughly between 9:30 pm and 10:50 pm. The First Information Report (FIR) outlines that the dispute began when another passenger questioned Banerjee’s ticket validity and requested her to vacate a reserved seat. This prompted the involvement of ticket collector Harikesh Tripathi and RPF personnel.

According to the police account, RPF assistant sub-inspector Yaminikant Mishra and constable Rajesh Kumar intervened, but the situation reportedly worsened as Banerjee allegedly directed abusive language towards the officials. The police further allege that she subsequently produced a razor blade, resulting in an injury to Yaminikant Mishra. It is also claimed that Banerjee injured herself and attempted to shatter a coach window while trying to leave the scene. She was eventually deboarded at Dahanu and handed over to the Government Railway Police, with the Borivali railway police taking her into custody the following morning. The FIR, registered on August 13th, includes serious allegations such as assault on public servants, causing harm, endangering safety, and insulting officials. Despite the gravity of the accusations, Antara Banerjee was served a notice and subsequently released on bail.
