Box Office Update: ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ and ‘DC’ Both Witness Significant Mid-Week Growth
The regional box office continues to show resilience as two major titles, Vishwanath and Sons and DC, both recorded impressive growth in their latest daily figures. Despite being deep into their theatrical runs, both films saw a substantial percentage jump in earnings, indicating continued audience interest.
‘Vishwanath and Sons’ Maintains Strong Momentum
The Suriya-starrer Vishwanath and Sons continues to solidify its position as a major commercial success. On its 12th day of release, the film recorded an estimated India net collection of Rs 2.80 crore—a healthy 36.6% increase compared to its Monday earnings of Rs 2.05 crore.
According to data from Sacnilk, the film’s domestic net total has now climbed to Rs 105.50 crore, while the India gross stands at Rs 122.05 crore. Bolstered by an additional Rs 60 crore from overseas markets, the worldwide gross for the film has reached an impressive Rs 182.05 crore.
Regional performance remains steady, with Tamil Nadu leading the way with a contribution of Rs 1.40 crore to the day’s gross, followed closely by Andhra Pradesh and Telangana at Rs 1.25 crore. Night shows proved particularly popular, with Tamil screenings recording a strong 40.85% occupancy.
‘DC’ Crosses Major Milestone
Meanwhile, the film DC, featuring Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi, has achieved a significant milestone by crossing the Rs 100 crore mark globally.
On its 19th day, DC recorded a remarkable 48.4% growth, earning an estimated India net of Rs 92 lakhs compared to the Rs 62 lakhs it brought in on Day 18. This surge brought the film’s total worldwide gross to Rs 100.64 crore. With domestic net earnings now sitting at Rs 67.24 crore and international contributions adding Rs 23.20 crore, the project continues to hold ground in a competitive market.
The film’s performance remains consistent across its bilingual release, with the Tamil version continuing to lead audience traction, recording a 31.13% occupancy during its latest cycle of screenings.
