Emraan Hashmi Returns to the Stage: Actor Commands Rs 2 Crore for Exclusive Comeback Gigs
Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi is set to make a triumphant return to live performances, ending a 19-year hiatus from the stage. Following the massive box-office success of his latest outing, Awarapan 2, the actor has reportedly inked a deal worth Rs 2 crore for two high-profile Bollywood-themed events.
A Musical Trip Down Memory Lane
The actor, long celebrated for his association with some of Indian cinema’s most iconic soundtracks, will headline “The Emraan Era” at Sunburn Union in Bengaluru on August 29. He is slated to follow this with an appearance at the Quake Arena in Hyderabad on September 5, where he will perform alongside DJ Ganesh.
Fans can look forward to a nostalgic journey as Hashmi revisits the chart-topping hits that defined his career in the mid-2000s. The setlist is expected to feature tracks from cult-classic films such as Murder (2004), Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005), and Jannat (2008). While the Bengaluru performance will feature support from DJ Aerreo, the Hyderabad gig is expected to be a high-energy showcase featuring remixes and mash-ups of the actor’s extensive discography.
Connecting Generations
Hashmi’s return to the stage marks his first major live appearance since his performance at the 2007 IIFA Awards. While his initial popularity was anchored by the millennial generation, his recent work has successfully bridged the gap to Gen Z. Industry analysts note that his recent project choices—including appearances in Aryan Khan’s *The Ba**ds of Bollywood (2025) and the resounding success of Awarapan 2—have revitalized his stardom, introducing his signature “serial kisser” persona and musical legacy to a brand-new demographic.
Riding the Wave of ‘Awarapan 2’
The comeback arrives at a career-defining moment for the actor. Awarapan 2, a sequel to his 2007 cult hit, has performed exceptionally well at the box office. According to data from Sacnilk, the film has achieved a worldwide gross collection of Rs 203.70 crore, cementing Hashmi’s position as a viable theatrical draw.
The momentum shows no sign of slowing down. With his return to the live stage, Hashmi is successfully capitalizing on his current commercial peak. Looking ahead, the actor is already gearing up for his next venture, Gunmaster G9, an action-packed project directed by Aditya Datt that will see him starring alongside Genelia Deshmukh and Aparshakti Khurana. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 27, 2026.
As Hashmi prepares to face live crowds once more, the Rs 2 crore deal serves as a testament to his enduring influence and the magnetic pull of his iconic musical catalog, which continues to resonate with fans nearly two decades later.
