Actor Rohit Rajawat Makes Bold Production Debut with Survival Thriller ‘Dear Husband’

Actor-turned-producer Rohit Rajawat is stepping into a new chapter of his career with his debut feature film production, Dear Husband. A gripping Hindi thriller, the project marks a significant transition for Rajawat, who balances his dual roles as a producer and a key performer in the film.

Describing the journey as both challenging and rewarding, Rajawat noted that the project pushed him well beyond his creative comfort zone. “This is my first feature film as a producer, although I have previously produced web series. It is a unique film, and my character is quite unconventional,” Rajawat shared.

Directed by Dharmendra Kumar and written by Ajit Goswami, Dear Husband tells the story of a young man from a small town whose life takes a dark, suspenseful turn when he becomes ensnared in a high-stakes confrontation with criminals. The film promises a high-octane blend of romance, action, and psychological suspense.

A Grueling Production in the Wild

The film’s production was defined by its atmospheric authenticity, having been shot entirely on location in Uttar Pradesh. A significant portion of the film was lensed within the dense, rugged terrain of the Tikri Forest in the Gonda district.

Writer Ajit Goswami revealed that the 30-day filming schedule was physically and mentally exhausting, as the majority of the production took place during overnight shoots, leaving the crew with very little rest. The environment provided an unpredictable backdrop that the cast described as both mysterious and perilous.

Satish Tripathi, who portrays a police inspector in the thriller, recounted the harrowing conditions the team faced while working in the deep forest. “We filmed in the jungle amidst the danger of snakes and scorpions. Almost every night around 2 or 2:30 a.m., the lights would suddenly go off. It felt as if there was something mysterious about that place. [It was a thrilling and unforgettable adventure],” Tripathi said.

Championing Local Talent

For Rajawat, the film is a labor of love driven by a commitment to grassroots storytelling. By working with a largely local team in Uttar Pradesh, the production aimed to foster regional artistic potential.

“While many of the actors are new, they are well-trained performers. Our lead actress Purnima Sharma has considerable experience in films,” Rajawat noted. “This is a sincere effort by a team of passionate artists, and I hope audiences appreciate it.”

As Dear Husband moves toward its release, the team hopes that the intensity of their real-world experience in the Tikri Forest translates into a visceral, cinematic experience for the audience.
