CD Projekt Red Details Enhanced Performance for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered on PS5 Pro

Following a high-profile showcase of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 edition, CD Projekt Red took to the stage during its “REDstreams: On the Go!” presentation at Gamescom 2026 to reveal technical specifics for the PS5 Pro version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered.

The developer provided a deep dive into the hardware optimizations players can expect when the title launches on Sony’s mid-generation console refresh. Among the most anticipated updates is the significant boost to graphical fidelity and frame rate consistency.

High-Fidelity Performance

CD Projekt Red confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered on PS5 Pro will deliver a robust 60fps experience while maintaining ray tracing—a major leap over the original PS5 iteration, which relegated ray tracing to a 30fps mode. While the studio noted that there are no additional ray tracing features being introduced at this time, the ability to run existing ray-traced assets at double the frame rate is expected to be a major quality-of-life improvement for fans.

For players who prioritize raw speed, the studio also unveiled a dedicated performance mode. By unlocking the frame rate, the engine is capable of pushing up to 90fps, offering a much smoother traversal and combat experience across the Continent.

A New Standard

The transition of these PS5 Pro features marks the latest step in CD Projekt Red’s commitment to keeping its flagship RPG at the forefront of graphical technology. By combining higher frame targets with the enhanced power of the PS5 Pro, the team hopes to provide the definitive console experience for both newcomers and returning players.

This news arrives alongside excitement for the wider remaster project, which includes new DLC, updated musical compositions, and various engine improvements. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered is officially slated for release on September 29, 2026.
