Investigation Launched After Young Boy Killed in Fatal Collision Involving Off-Road Bike

Two men have been arrested following a devastating collision in Nottinghamshire that claimed the life of a young boy.

Emergency services were scrambled to Churchill Drive in Newark shortly after 6 p.m. yesterday following reports of a severe crash involving a car and an off-road motorcycle.

The young victim, who had been riding as a passenger on the back of the bike, sustained fatal injuries during the incident. Despite the best efforts of paramedics who arrived at the scene, the boy could not be saved.

A 24-year-old man, who was operating the off-road bike at the time of the collision, also sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. Following the incident, police confirmed that he has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A second man, aged 32, has also been taken into custody by authorities on suspicion of the same offense as investigations into the circumstances of the crash continue.

The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the local community. Nottinghamshire Police have cordoned off the area to conduct a forensic examination of the scene.

Detective Inspector Jamie Moore of Nottinghamshire Police expressed his condolences to the victim’s family, stating: “This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the boy’s loved ones at this incredibly distressing time.”

Authorities are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time of the collision to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
