‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ Faces Monday Slump, Crosses Rs 300 Crore Worldwide

The high-octane cinematic venture Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, headlined by superstar Yash, has hit a minor speed bump as it enters its first weekday. Following a robust opening weekend, the film witnessed a significant 67.6% drop in box office collections on its first Monday.

According to data from Sacnilk, the film garnered an estimated Rs 7.45 crore net across India on Day 6. This performance comes after the movie maintained steady momentum over the weekend, pulling in Rs 25.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 23 crore on Sunday. Despite the dip, the film remains a massive commercial force, with its total India net collection now standing at Rs 221.55 crore.

Global Milestone Reached

While the domestic figures cooled down on Monday, the film’s international performance continues to provide a vital boost. With an additional Rs 2 crore added from overseas markets on Day 6, the cumulative international gross has reached Rs 39.25 crore. Consequently, the worldwide box office collections for Toxic have officially surged past the Rs 304.05 crore mark.

Language-Wise Performance and Occupancy

The film’s reach across India remains diverse, with the Hindi version leading the pack at Rs 4.40 crore on Monday, followed by the Kannada version at Rs 2 crore. The Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam versions contributed Rs 68 lakh, Rs 30 lakh, and Rs 7 lakh, respectively, across 13,400 total screenings.

In terms of regional audience engagement, the Kannada version outperformed other languages, registering an overall occupancy rate of 29.57%. The Telugu version followed closely with 28.01% occupancy, while the Hindi version recorded 17.52%. Across the board, night screenings proved to be the most popular, with the Kannada version peaking at 33.15% occupancy during late-night slots.

A Star-Studded Endeavor

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is being hailed as a major visual and narrative spectacle. Beyond the charismatic presence of Yash in the lead role, the film boasts a high-profile ensemble cast, including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria.

Since its theatrical release on August 26, the film has generated significant buzz, and analysts are now watching closely to see how the movie performs during the remainder of the week to determine its long-term sustainability at the box office.
