BREAKING: Man dies at scene of serious crash in Essex

Essex Police confirmed they were called to Keelings Road in Maldon at 6.50am today (Friday April 3) after reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Emergency services attended the scene, but sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the location.

The incident occurred on a major stretch of Keelings Road, between Manor Road and Bridgewick Road, which has been closed in both directions for more than six hours.

Authorities say the closure will remain in place while officers carry out thorough crash investigation work and ensure the road is safe for reopening.

A large-scale response from emergency services, including police and ambulance crews, was deployed to the scene.

Motorists in the area are facing significant delays, and drivers are being urged to avoid the stretch while investigations continue. Diversions have been put in place where possible.

Specialist officers are now investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision.
