Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar: The Revenge is all set to create history at the domestic box office. The Aditya Dhar directorial has become the first Hindi movie to hit Rs 870 crore domestically and Rs 925 crore including dubbed versions.
This means, the movie is now heading towards Rs 1000 crore mark including all languages. It will be the first Bollywood movie and third Indian movie after Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Pushpa 2: The Rule to breach Rs 1000 crore biz in India.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge Chases Rs 1000 Crore Mark in India
On its third Sunday, the movie made Rs 25 crore and took its 18-day Hindi total to Rs 870 crore after making Rs 68.50 crore in its third weekend, as per Pinkvilla.
While the movie is now heading towards Rs 1000 crore mark and will breach the number by fourth weekend, that will come only with all language versions.
Considering the Hindi only version is yet to hit Rs 900 crore in India, the movie may not hit Rs 1000 crore in a single language i.e. Hindi in this case.
Dhurandhar had a dream run at the box office after starting slow and ran for more than two months at the box office.
In comparison, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has witnessed a fall in its collection in less than a month and will be seen hitting a single digit biz in the next few days.
Had Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla released in theatres on April 10, Dhurandhar: The Revenge would’ve suffered even more.
The reason behind Dhurandhar: The Revenge not showing strong legs at the box office as compared to its prequel is because it was more frontloaded because of the massive hype thanks to part one. And also, it isn’t as good as the prequel was.
At the worldwide box office, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is expected to go over Rs 1500 crore and has the chance of hitting Rs 1600 crore as well, but can it take down Pushpa 2: The Rule we’ll know in the next couple of weeks.
