Joe Hugill credits the “homely” environment at Kilmarnock after the striker swapped Old Trafford for Rugby Park.
The 22-year-old arrived north of the border in January, leaving the comforts of life at a Premier League giant behind to slug it out in a relegation battle with Killie in the Scottish Premiership.
The forward had loan spells at Burton, Wigan and Carlisle before making the switch to Ayrshire, signing for Neil McCann in the winter window.
It was a huge decision from Hugill to go out on his own and back himself at the Rugby Park side – but he feels he made the right call and credits those at the club, along with the supporters, for making him feel welcome.
Northern Carpets & Beds are a locally run bed & carpet showroom offering very competitive prices and exceptional service to the whole of Ayrshire & beyond. We are proud to back the Chronicle and look forward to seeing fellow Killie fans soon in store or on our website!
“It’s obviously a bit different, but it’s quite homely – and that’s what I wanted,” he exclusively revealed to the Killie Chronicle.
“After leaving United for the first time on a permanent basis, I’ve had a few loans, I was looking for that kind of environment. Kilmarnock has been a great place for me to come and do that.
