GB News paused the show for a huge breaking news update as it emerged that MPs will be able to vote on whether an investigation should be carried out into Prime Minister Keir Starmer. GB News’ Chief Political Correspondent Katherine Forster appeared on the show to give the breaking update as she warned it could be “very damning” for the Prime Minister. She explained that Tuesday (April 28) will now be a huge day with evidence being given in the morning.
She continued: “Then tomorrow afternoon, this debate that the speaker has organised, he said he is the gatekeeper to ensure that ‘frivolous accusations are not taken forward'”, as she continued: “He clearly believes that this is not frivolous, Kemi Badenoch will be able to put the matter to the House of Commons tomorrow.”
She did however, explain that it was likely the vote would be whipped, which would make it unlikely for the Conservatives to succeed, though some Labour MPs may still side with the opposition. Forster continued: “It’s worth remembering the irony of this really because Labour got elected saying they would end the chaos, end the in-fighting, that they would bring calm, competent government.”
It was compared to when Boris Johnson had an investigation as she warned that it could take months for a result to emerge, but she reiterated that the topic, which surrounds the Peter Mandelson probe, wouldn’t be as wide-ranging as Johnson’s partygate scandal. Explaining further what the allegations were, she told the hosts that it was the claims that due process had been followed when it wasn’t, and that there was “no pressure” brought to the Foreign Office as she said that “Olly Robbins said different”.
She warned that this was “yet another nightmare” for the Prime Minister ahead of the local elections where he is “already unpopular”, adding that he likely “bitterly regrets the day he appointed Mandelson”, which “keeps coming back to bite him”.

It could be seriously bad news for Starmer with MPs having already called for his resignation throughout his time in Parliament ever since he was elected in 2024; crunch time is hours away as a vote is expected to take place tomorrow (April 28).
