A couple claim they have been forced into debt after four failed Personal Independence Payment (PIP) applications, despite one of them being unable to work.
Rachael Holling from Newport said she is now “exhausted” trying to support her husband, Paul, while she works full-time as his health has deteriorated to the point that he is out of work as a chef.
“We’ve applied four times now and been rejected each time,” she said. “We’re currently waiting on a tribunal date. We are [speaking out] to show that the system is broken and the consequences, [which] are people, exhausted, fighting the system.”
