Sable&Hawkes has completed the design and delivery of a full hospital environment scheme for a new £175m Acute Services and Multi-Ward Block at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The development brings together a wide range of clinical environments, including maternity services (delivery suite, theatres, midwifery-led unit, triage and bereavement), neonatal intensive and special care, a 22-bed critical care floor, surgical arrivals and recovery, and antenatal and postnatal wards.
Working closely with clinical teams, patient groups and the Trust’s charity, we developed a unifying creative theme inspired by British natural environments, designed to support patient wellbeing, reduce anxiety and create calm, legible spaces across the building.
Sable&Hawkes delivered the full programme — from stakeholder engagement and creative strategy through to design development, artwork production and the management of all print and installation across the site.
