Bhopal: Works of cartoon editor of Deccan Chronicle/ Asian Age Shubhani Shaik have found place in the ‘Cartoon Katha’, a compilation of cartoons of nine eminent cartoonists of different media organizations across the country.
The pictorial book was on Friday released on the occasion of the celebration of the completion of 200 years of Hindi journalism, hosted jointly by the Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Mass Communication (MCNUJMC) and Veer Bharat Nyas at the famed Bharat Bhawan here.
Mr. Shaik and nine other senior cartoonists of India have been honoured with the presentation of the book and a shawl on the occasion, by the journalism university and Veer Bharat Nyas.
He is taking part in the live cartooning along with eight other senior cartoonists at the three-day event, commenced on Friday, marking the completion of 200 years of Hindi journalism.
The three cartoons, which find place in the ‘Cartoon Katha’ and also published in the Deccan Chronicle/ Asian Age on different publications, included Prime Minister Narendra Modi signing trade deal with European Union (EU), described as ‘Mother of All Deals’ even as USA president Donald Trump was seen in the backdrop reminding them that he is the father of all the deals.
The other cartoon vividly describes the impact of the crash of the share market on the different sections of people as well as Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
The third cartoon was about Kerala.
Mr. Shaik’s latest book “40 to the point”, a compilation of 600 editorial cartoons, has been published recently.
His other book of cartoons, caricatures and sketches, ‘ADAAB HYDERABAD’ has been highly acclaimed by the eminent national and international cartoonists.
