India marks World Bicycle Day with nationwide cycling initiative

India’s Sports Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, joined the “Fit India Sundays on Cycle” initiative in New Delhi to mark World Bicycle Day. The event brought together several prominent personalities from the fields of sports, fitness and entertainment to promote the message of health, fitness and well-being.

Similar cycling events were organized at approximately 10,000 locations across India, with thousands of people taking part to strengthen the Fit India campaign and encourage greater public participation in physical activity. World Bicycle Day, observed annually on June 3, highlights the role of bicycles in reducing carbon emissions, improving public health and making cities more livable.
