In its April cover story, Vogue reported that Doja Cat said she wants to be able to go shopping without turning the outing into a public event. âIt makes me so upset,â she said while discussing unwanted attention from paparazzi. She added that she does not want to walk up to someone and say, âStop fâing filming me,â even when the filming bothers her.Instead, she said she handles the situation differently. âI donât want to do that,â she said. âI think I would rather do it in a creative way.â When asked what that meant, Doja Cat explained, âSometimes I try to look purposefully ugly.â She added, âI turn it into a game.â

The interview also touched on her need for privacy away from work. Doja Cat told Vogue that she was âagoraphobic, fullyâ as a teenager and said, âI couldnât leave my house.â She explained that some of those instincts still shape how she resets between projects.After releasing her album âVieâ in September 2025, she spent time at home in the Los Angeles suburbs to recharge and rebuild her creative energy. She described that period as ârestimulating my creative bone.â She also said that being a âhermitâ is part of that process. âWhen Iâm home, Iâm just home with my cat,â she said.
