Symphony Environmental Technologies said on Friday that it had appointed Synapsium as the exclusive distributor of its plastic and rubber technologies in Morocco.
The AIM-traded company said the agreement would initially focus on supporting Moroccan manufacturers, converters, industrial operators and institutional stakeholders in adopting Symphony’s sustainable technologies.
Synapsium is a Morocco-based consultancy active across a number of African countries.
Symphony said the firm specialises in connecting sustainable technology companies with African markets and works with multilateral institutions and development finance organisations on international cooperation programmes.
The company said the appointment marked the first phase of a broader effort to introduce its technologies across Morocco and North Africa.
Synapsium managing director Mohamed Amin Moustanjidi said the agreement was a “major milestone” in the firm’s strategy to bring sustainable technologies to African markets.
“By combining Symphony’s globally recognised expertise with Synapsium’s regional vision and network, we aim to accelerate the deployment of practical and scalable environmental solutions for the plastics industry and beyond,” he said.
Symphony chief executive officer Michael Laurier said the company’s technologies were already used in many countries around the world.
He said the group’s d2w technology was designed to convert plastic entering the environment into biodegradable material without leaving microplastics, while d2t provided anti-counterfeiting protection and d2p offered protection against bacteria, viruses, insects, rodents and fire.
Laurier added that Symphony had also introduced a product under its NbR brand aimed at reducing the amount of fossil-derived material used in plastic products.
“All these technologies will be of great benefit to the people of Morocco and North Africa, and we look forward to working with Synapsium to introduce the products to local markets,” he said.
