Prince George will soon be throwing on a tailcoat and white tie to school as he’s set to start Eton College in the autumn.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest son, 12, will finish his final term at Lambrook School in Berkshire in July.
He has been studying there with his sister Charlotte and brother Louis.
The Waleses said today: ‘Kensington Palace can confirm that Prince George will attend Eton College from this September.’
William, his brother Prince Harry and their uncle Earl Spencer all attended Eton, a £63,000-a-year boys’ school near Windsor.

The college has also educated 20 prime ministers, including Boris Johnson and David Cameron.
But outside of royalty and politics, alumni even include celebrities like Bear Grylls, Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston.
William, then 18, told People magazine in 2000 that his final year at Eton was spent studying biology while playing water polo, football and polo.
‘I’ve really enjoyed being able to go about Eton as just another student,’ he said.
Yet Harry wrote in his memoir, Spare, that playing sport was the only reason he didn’t quit Eton.
The Duke of Sussex said rugby became his stress relief as he struggled to fit in at the elite institution.
‘Rugby let me indulge my rage,” he wrote. ‘I simply didn’t feel pain the way other boys did, which made me scary on a pitch.’
Today’s announcement from the palace ends months of speculation about where George will study next.
While he had been spotted leaving Eton with his parents in 2024, the family had also visited Marlborough College, where Kate attended.
George, who is second in line to the throne, will turn 13 next month – the minimum age Eton pupils need to be to start.
