GB News grinds to a halt for breaking Donald Trump bombshell | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

GB News came to an unexpected halt minutes into Bev Turner’s evening show to issue an urgent breaking news update from across the pond. On Thursday (March 19), the 52-year-old broadcaster returned to the helm to deliver the latest news hitting the headlines. It didn’t take long for things to turn political, as she was forced to interrupt her usual schedule for a breaking news update about US President Donald Trump.

Among the men was teenager Saleh Mohammadi, a member of Iran’s national wrestling team, sources had told CBS. To get a deeper understanding of the repercussions of this, Turner welcomed senior Iran analyst at DAWN, Omid Memarian, onto the show to discuss the Iran war.

He claimed that Donald Trump’s war efforts had given the Iranian regime more opportunity to commit “unjustified violence” towards the people of Iran. Memarian explained: “The wartime situation gives them the justification to commit even more violence, and that’s something that President Trump has not been able to stop.

“The first time that he said to the Iranian people, ‘Go to this street and see these governmental buildings and we’re going to support you’, in January, thousands of people lost their lives, and he was not able to help.

“Now they [the US] are bombing, they are destroying a lot of places. They have attacked 7,000 points in Iran, but they have not been able to crack the repression machinery of the Islamic Republic, and the Islamic Republic is still executing people, and the pressure on the descent is high. We have to see what happens in the next few days, whether we see a crack in the Islamic Republic or not.”

It didn’t take long for viewers to flock to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their concerns about the latest update coming from Iran. One user penned: “I am so sad and mad about this [crying emoji, angry emoji. I hope Trump finishes them off,” as another simply wrote: “Barbarism”.

It comes after Trump threatened to obliterate Iran’s most strategically vital gas facility after publicly rebuking Israel for striking it first – insisting the US “knew nothing” about the attack. The President took to Truth Social to condemn Israel’s assault on the South Pars Gas Field, saying it had “violently lashed out” in anger – before warning that America itself would destroy the same target if Iran continued attacking Qatar.

Mr Trump fumed: “Israel, out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East, has violently lashed out at a major facility known as the South Pars Gas Field in Iran.” He added that Qatar “was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen,” and “unfortunately, Iran did not know this.”
