Members of the Friends Group Cushendall recently completed an environmental project at Cottage Wood.
More than 50 trees were planted to help enhance local biodiversity and create a greener future for the community.

The initiative brought together group members, young people, carers, and parents, all working side by side to make a positive contribution to the local environment.
The tree-planting event was made possible through the support of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council. The new trees will help improve wildlife habitats, contribute to carbon capture, and ensure that Cottage Wood remains a valuable natural space for generations to come.

Joining participants on the day was Councillor Oliver McMullan, who welcomed the project and praised the efforts of everyone involved. He commended the volunteers for their dedication to protecting and enhancing the local environment while creating an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to work together in a meaningful community activity.
