Manchester City will take on Atletico Madrid and the K-League All Stars in pre-season ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Blues are travelling to Asia this summer and had already confirmed a game against Italian giants Inter Milan, a repeat of the 2023 Champions League final. That game will take place on Saturday, August 1, in Hong Kong.
City have now confirmed two more fixtures, both in South Korea. City will take on a representative side from the Korean League on Wednesday, August 5, before facing Spanish side Atletico Madrid on Sunday, August 9. Both fixtures will take place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
City have played in Seoul twice before, firstly in 1976 when they played South Korea three times, and then again in 2023, when they also faced Atletico. On that occasion they were beaten 2-1 by the La Liga side in a game that was delayed by 40 minutes due to heavy rain.
Peter Laundy, Senior Vice President of Partnerships, City Football Group, said: “We are delighted to confirm the final fixtures of Manchester City men’s preseason tour and we’re incredibly excited to be returning to Seoul – this time for two fixtures.
“We received such an exceptional welcome when we visited in 2023, with a sell-out crowd for our fixture against Atletico Madrid and thousands of fans attending our open training while we were in the city. We’re looking forward to an exciting rematch, connecting with our fans in Korea and spending more time in the country this year.”
Kick off times have yet to be confirmed and tickets for the matches will go on sale from City’s website to official supporter club members and official members in due course. There is a limited allocation and tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis with eligible fans able to buy a maximum of two tickets. Further information will be provided in due course and tickets will go off sale on July 20.
