Prime Video takes Talpa’s Alliance into India | News

The Alliance

Prime Video in India has become the first international company to adapt Talpa Studios reality format The Alliance following a deal with Banijay Asia.

A Hindi-language version is being produced for the streamer, which will become available globally.

The deal follows Talpa and Banijay Asia’s two-year deal unveiled in October that sees the latter representing unscripted formats from the Netherlands-based firm in India and Thailand.

The Alliance has become the best performing long-running reality series on SBS6 in the Netherlands and is the number one title on streaming platform KIJK.

The format follows 16 participants who split into four teams at the beginning of each month of the series. They then compete through physical and knowledge-based games, secret missions and manipulative tactics to rise in the rankings.

The final teams face off in a series of competitions to reach the final, at which point they turn on each other in the battle to win €100,000 (£87,000). Talpa said the structure “allows for indefinite continuation or monthly closure”.

The Alliance joins an expanding raft of originals for Prime Video in India, which revealed a huge slate last week including adaptations of formats such as The Traitors.
