Actor-writer Adivi Sesh believes Indian cinema still has some distance to cover before it can genuinely call itself “pan-India”. According to him, as long as films continue to be identified primarily by their language, the industry will not fully move beyond linguistic boundaries.Sharing his perspective, the Major and HIT: The Second Case actor says, “I find it interesting that we still classify our films as ‘Hindi films’, ‘Telugu films’, ‘Tamil films’, and then separately use the term ‘pan-India film’. If a film can emotionally connect with audiences across the country, why should its identity be restricted by language in the first place? The moment we stop looking at stories through linguistic boundaries and start embracing them as Indian stories, that’s when pan-India cinema will truly exist. The dream should be to create films that belong to the entire country, not just one language market.” His upcoming film, Dacoit: A Love Story, co-starring Mrunal Thakur, was shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu before being dubbed into multiple languages.The Major actor is also set to make his Hindi film debut. Having earned praise for his content-driven films, Adivi is now preparing to enter Bollywood with a new action drama. According to a report by India Today, the film is expected to go on floors in October, with an official announcement likely soon. Pre-production and casting are expected to begin in September, with the full cast coming together before filming starts. The title of the film and the director’s name are being kept under wraps for now.
