As Mumbai settles into its annual dance with the rains, singer Shaan says he prefers the season away from the spotlight and close to home. I love sitting by the window, watching the rain pour down. There’s something incredibly soothing about the sound of the rain, the cool breeze, and that unmistakable fragrance of Mumbai after the first showers. Mumbai’s monsoon has always been my favourite, and for me, the perfect companion to it is a hot cup of coffee,”For an artist whose voice has soundtracked countless romantic and nostalgic moments on screen, it is perhaps fitting that rain remains one of his biggest inspirations. While fans continue to hum Chand Sifarish on long drives and revisit Jab Se Tere Naina on rainy evenings, Shaan says the season is less about work and more about soaking in the atmosphere.The singer’s affection for Mumbai’s monsoon is rooted in the sensory experience, the first earthy scent after the showers, the breeze sweeping through the city, and the simple pleasure of slowing down.For many Mumbaikars, the rains mean traffic snarls and delayed schedules.
