As detailed in the Producer Letter, this DLC will introduce a new solo mode called “Limit Breaker Journey”, where players can choose their favourite character, develop their abilities and customise them through a variety of battles.
Players will navigate the map, select opponents based on their strength and use Battle Arts to gain advantages.
Character stats can then be increased, allowing players to shape their fighter to suit their preferred playstyle.
The DLC also includes four new Episode Battles, 33 new characters from DRAGON BALL, DRAGON BALL Z, DRAGON BALL SUPER and DRAGON BALL GT, as well as four new stages.
But that’s not all, as a free update will also introduce gameplay changes and new mechanics.
“Sparking! Boost” allows players to spend a large amount of Skill Stock to further increase their attack power while in Sparking! Mode. However, once the boost ends, their stats will be temporarily reduced.
“Chain Blast” is a new mechanic that creates an additional follow-up opportunity after sending an opponent flying.
By switching to a reserve ally and continuing the attack with a blast, players can deal massive damage.
Variations of existing stages will also be added in this update.
Hello everyone!
I’m Furutani, the producer of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO.
Today, we’d like to provide a more detailed introduction to the “Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC!”
First, let’s talk about the solo mode that was introduced in the trailer revealed this past April during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 held in April.
This new mode is called “Limit Breaker Journey,” where you can take your favorite character and develop them into fighters that match your own preferred playstyle through battles and events.
Now, we’d like to go into more detail about exactly what you can do in this mode.
In this mode, you first select a character you want to strengthen.
After that, when using the character in other modes, you’ll be able to enjoy battles with enhanced stats, regardless of their form, based on the progress made in this mode.
The game begins once you select a character.
Basically, you’ll repeat the cycle shown in the footage: choosing your destination, engaging in battles or events, and then growing stronger.
You will start with choosing where to go from the map, but before that, let us explain the stamina system.
Moving consumes stamina, and the lower your stamina is, the less health you will have at the start of a battle.
On the other hand, the harsher your condition with low stamina, the more EXP you’ll gain after overcoming a battle.
Additionally, the Senzu Beans awarded during each playthrough allow you to fully restore your stamina.
So, you can choose whether to push through tougher fights for greater growth, or aim for safer victories and steady progression — we encourage you to experiment and find the approach that suits you best.
Next, let’s move on to battles and events.
There are several types of destinations.
If you see a location marked with a character or a humanoid silhouette, a battle will take place there.
The displayed “SP” indicates the overall strength of the opponent.
The higher the value, the stronger the enemy will be—but accordingly, the amount of EXP gained upon victory will also increase.
Be sure to make your choices carefully, taking into account your own skill level as well as factors like the stamina system explained earlier.”
“Locations marked with a conversation icon will trigger events.
At times, you may encounter specific characters
and be able to equip “Battle Art,” which grants special status-enhancing effects.
You may also train together with them to gain EXP.
There is a limit to how many Battle Art you can equip based on your SP, but each one provides a variety of effects depending on the character who teaches it.
Finally, let’s talk about character progression.
By gaining experience through battles and events, your SP will increase.
As your SP rises, you’ll earn points that can be allocated to these six parameters.
Use these points to power up your character and shape them into a fighter that suits your own playstyle.
By repeating the cycle described so far and defeating the powerful enemy that awaits you at the end, you will complete the run and earn a large amount of experience.
Additionally, you may also acquire the “Battle Art” mentioned earlier by defeating some powerful enemies.
If you are defeated, it will result in a game over, but any EXP you have gained up to that point will not be wasted.
So, by carefully managing your stamina and choosing your destinations wisely, we hope you’ll experiment and fight your way through challenges to power up into an even stronger warrior.
The characters you’ve developed can be used in Player Matches and Offline Battles.
Be sure to test your skills against your friends and mighty warriors from around the world!
We’ve previously revealed the playable characters appearing in the “Super Limit-Breaking DLC NEO” through teaser and announcement trailers.
Today, we’ve also prepared a video, so please take a look!
Up until now, we had announced that more than 30 characters would be included in this DLC, and the remaining additions were Goku from the 23rd World Tournament and characters such as Ma Junior.
With this DLC, we aimed to further deepen the experience of fully immersing yourself in each character—something that is very important to this title. To achieve this, we’ve included not only new characters, but also skills, costumes, and other elements that allow for more detailed and varied battle scenarios.
We hope you enjoy creating your favorite situations and experiencing Dragon Ball battles just the way you like!
Alongside the release of this DLC, a free update is also planned.
“Sparking! Boost” and “Chain Blast”, which were revealed in the announcement trailer, will be added.
“Sparking! Boost” is a new action that can be activated by consuming a larger amount of Skill Stock.
While in Sparking! mode, it greatly increases your attack power, allowing you to press your advantage and go on the offensive in one decisive burst.
However, once the effect ends, there is a drawback where your stats temporarily decrease,
so choosing the right moment to use it is crucial.
Next, “Chain Blast” is another new action that can be activated when you’ve blown your opponent away and have an opportunity to follow up.
By switching in a reserve ally and continuing the attack with a Blast, you can deal massive damage.
The specific skill triggered by this action is fixed for each character, so we encourage you to try out different characters and experiment with their unique abilities.
Moreover, we will be adding four completely new stages as Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC, and in addition, three new variations of existing stages will be introduced as part of a free update.
We hope these additions will allow you to recreate more detailed battle scenarios that better match your personal preferences.
The “Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC” is designed to further deepen the immersive experience of becoming your chosen character — an aspect that this title places great importance on. It includes not only new characters, but also skills and costumes that allow you to create more detailed and varied scenarios.
In addition, there will be new solo modes as introduced today, as well as added Episode Battles for four characters and Extra Battles. We hope you’ll give it a try.
Finally, to wrap up today’s showcase, we’ve prepared a video featuring the remaining playable characters, as well as various skills and costumes that have not yet been revealed.
