Four people have been charged following an alleged shooting in Litherland. Armed officers descended on Bowland Drive on Monday, March 23, following reports a gang inside a car had allegedly shot at a man on a Sur-ron bike on nearby Fulwood Way.
The suspects allegedly fled the scene and, during a brief chase, the vehicle collided with a police car on Melling Road in Aintree before being abandoned on Epsom Close. The suspects then attempted to escape on foot but were detained by officers.
No injuries have been reported, and officers are continuing enquiries to locate the rider. A subsequent search of the area led to a discovery of two firearms hidden in bushes. The weapons were located with the assistance of a police dog and were found to be loaded and viable.
Four men, aged 33, 42, 21 and 23, all from Liverpool, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, failing to stop a vehicle and dangerous driving.
Police have now charged four men in connection with the incident.
Adam Bigley, 33, of Portland Place, Everton, has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of ammunition, dangerous driving, driving other than in accordance with a licence and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance
Joseph Kidd, 42, of Portland Place, Everton, has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of ammunition
Lee Nimbley, 21, of Stanley Park Avenue South, Anfield, has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of ammunition
Kenneth Quadrio, 23, of no fixed abode, has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of ammunition
All have been remanded into custody to appear at Wirral adult remand court today, Wednesday, March 25.
