Stag’s Tavern closes indefinitely after Germantown fire | Washington Co. Business News

GERMANTOWN — Stags Tavern, W187N12793 Fond du Lac Ave, has been forced to close its doors as they deal with damages from a fire that occurred early Tuesday morning.

While no official details regarding the extent of the damages have been released and the incident remains under investigation, damages caused by the fire were severe enough for them to have to close down at least temporarily, according to the business. According to a recent announcement over their social media, they will remain closed until further notice.

“Due to an unexpected emergency (we had a fire), Stag’s Tavern will be closed until further notice,” said the business in a post Tuesday morning. “We’ll share updates here as we know more about reopening. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.”

Other businesses in the area have put out statements offering their well-wishes in support of the local business. For instance, Sloppy Joe’s Saloon & Spoon offered their sympathies and hopes for the restaurant’s recovery over social media.

“Our hearts go out to the owners, employees, and everyone connected to Stag’s Tavern after last night’s devastating fire,” said the business in a recent social media statement. “In just a few short years, they built Stag’s into a wonderful establishment that became an important part of the community. We’re hoping for strength in the days ahead and that they’re able to rebuild even stronger.”

Pioneer Bowl offered their support as well, emphasizing that the local community is behind them through this tragedy.

“Our hearts go out to Stags Tavern, your family, your employees, and everyone affected by the devastating fire. Seeing a fellow local, family-owned business experience such a heartbreaking loss is something no one ever wants to witness. Behind every small business is years of hard work, countless memories, dedicated employees, and a community that has supported it along the way. We know this is an incredibly difficult time, but we also know how strong our local business community is,” said the bowling alley on social media Tuesday. “From all of us at Pioneer Bowl, we are thinking of you and wishing you strength as you begin the road ahead. We hope you can find comfort in the overwhelming support of this community, and we have no doubt that everyone will be rallying behind you.”
