Adivi Sesh reveals 'Dacoit's Hindi-Telugu strategy inspired by 'Pad Man'
Why ‘Dacoit’ was shot in Hindi and Telugu together?

What’s the story

Actor Adivi Sesh, who stars in the upcoming film Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, has explained why the movie was shot in both Telugu and Hindi.
Speaking at the trailer launch event on Saturday, he credited Akshay Kumar‘s 2018 film Pad Man for his decision to make Dacoit a bilingual project.

Sesh on capturing ‘cultural nuances’

According to Bollywood Hungama, Sesh said, “It’s a cultural thing, and there are also cultural nuances.”
“That’s how we tweaked the song Chichubuddi to Touch Buddy for the Hindi audience.”
“The Hindi song blended the Bhojpuri flavor of Pawan Singh and the urban flavor of Jonita Gandhi. That’s an example of things we did in a very fun, practical way.”

‘As for the story, there was a lovely film…’

Sesh added, “As for the story, there was a lovely film I saw, Pad Man…That’s when I learned that it’s a Tamil story.”
“It made me wonder, ‘Why can’t we show a Tamil story to a Hindi audience? Why do we need to set it in Madhya Pradesh?’ After all, it’s based on true events.”
“So, I thought of setting a story on the Badlands of Andhra Pradesh-Karnataka border and making the film in an authentic Hindi cinema style.”

About the film

But as he faces his past, he finds himself torn between vengeance and unexpected compassion.
