Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) cancelled the Class 12 Hindi examination on Monday following allegations of a paper leak. The examination, originally held on 14 March, will now be conducted afresh on 10 April from 9 am to 12.15 pm.Reports of the Hindi ‘Set B’ question paper circulating on social media and appearing in local news reports surfaced on March 15 and 16. Acknowledging the gravity of the matter, board officials filed a written complaint with the Cyber Cell and registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the City Kotwali police station.“A detailed and impartial investigation is underway to identify the source of the leak. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty,” a senior board official said.Students and parents can access further details and official notifications on the board’s website, www.cgbse.nic.in. The decision was taken during a meeting of the board’s examination committee on 23 March. The committee decided to void the previous session and schedule a retest. Investigations revealed that the leaked paper began circulating on a Telegram group around 11:10 pm on March 13, nearly 10 hours before the exam on March 14. Within minutes, the handwritten question paper—containing 15 questions—spread to over 15,000 students across multiple groups. Notably, all questions in Set B of the actual exam matched the leaked content, including optional questions.
