Constellation Brands to add Hopwtr to non-alcoholic portfolio

ROCHESTER, NY. — Constellation Brands has entered into an agreement to acquire Hopwtr, a non-alcoholic beverage company, for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2020, Hopwtr markets a line of sparkling water formulated with hops, adaptogens and nootropics. The products are aimed at consumers seeking a calorie-free beer-alternative with functional benefits, according to the company.

“My team and I look forward to taking this next step with Constellation and benefiting further from the company’s deep industry expertise and commitment to driving premium, consumer-driven brands,” said Jordan Bass, founder and chief executive officer of Hopwtr. “I’m confident this will help us keep the momentum going and am excited to work together on the next phase of growth.”

The acquisition, which is expected to close in April, follows a previous investment by Constellation into Hopwtr in 2021. Constellation’s low- and non-alcoholic portfolio also includes such brands as Corona non-alcoholic and Kim Crawford Illuminate. The company additionally acquired a minority stake in non-alcoholic functional beverage maker Hiyo in 2025.

“Since our initial venture investment in Hopwtr in 2021, we’ve worked closely with the team to help shape the brand’s long-term strategic direction,” said Jim Sabia, president of Constellation’s beer division and executive vice president. “With the non-alcoholic segment becoming one of the fastest growing areas of total beverage alcohol, Hopwtr is a natural addition to our no- and low-alcohol portfolio.”
