LUCKNOW – A normal Saturday afternoon in a quiet corner of Uttar Pradesh suddenly turned into scene people say they will never forget. It began as a small argument over where a vendor could sell ice cream. But it quickly spiraled into something horrifying.
The victim, 25-year-old Bablu, was known in that area as the man with ice cream cart who showed up regularly. Children often waited for him, and residents had grown used to seeing him moving slowly through the lanes. On Saturday, however, his routine visit turned tense when a 50-year-old local resident, identified as Shankar Yadav, objected to Bablu selling ice cream there. According to eyewitnesses, Yadav demanded that Bablu leave immediately.
Witnesses said voices grew louder, and people nearby started paying attention. Before anyone could intervene, the situation allegedly turned violent. Yadav reportedly attacked Bablu with a sharp object.
The attack left bystanders frozen in disbelief. In a gruesome turn, Bablu was beheaded on the spot.
The horror did not end there. According to initial reports, the accused allegedly attempted to burn the severed head by placing it near a fire.
Police reached the spot soon after being alerted and found a chaotic scene. Many witnesses had already fled, and the area was tense. Officers managed to apprehend Shankar Yadav shortly after the incident. Body of Bablu was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities began collecting evidence and recording statements from those who were present there.
Investigators are now interrogating the accused and examining all aspects of the case. Legal proceedings are expected to follow as authorities prepare the next steps.
