Mumbai, March 31 – In less than two weeks, director Aditya Dhar’s spy action thriller Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has outnumbered its predecessor to become the highest-grossing film in Hindi at the domestic box office, and is now marching towards the 1000 crore club.
Released four months ago, Dhurandhar stormed the box office with record-breaking numbers and eventually became the biggest Hindi net grosser with 840 crores, beating Pushpa 2’s 812 crores. However, the record didn’t last long as Dhurandhar 2 has climbed to number 1 in just 13 days.
The Ranveer Singh-starrer scored around 818 crores net in 12 days, and on its second Tuesday (13th day), the film is looking to earn around 25 crores in Hindi. This will take its total Hindi net past the first film, effectively making it the biggest Hindi blockbuster of all-time.
The pace at which Dhurandhar: The Revenge is breaking records is remarkable. While it always looked like it would become the biggest blockbuster after the massive success of Dhurandhar, no one saw it doing this in under two weeks, which is something for the history books.
