Lee Milne, 40, has been jailed for eight years after being convicted of killing his wife Kimberly Milne, who jumped to her death from a road bridge following a campaign of abuse
The husband of a woman who jumped to her death from a road bridge following his vile campaign of abuse, including choking and biting her, has been jailed for eight years.
Lee Milne, 40, was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow after being convicted of culpable homicide and engaging in a course of abusive behaviour towards his wife.
Kimberly Milne was 28 when she tragically jumped from a road bridge over the A90 in Dundee in July 2023 where she was hit by multiple vehicles. She told police how, one one occasion, Milne had “repeatedly punched my ribs and I was begging him not to hurt me but he was not listening” after he was accused of cheating.
In November 2022, Milne got angry when she asked to be taken home and struck her, causing her to fall and hit her head on a wall, knocking her unconscious.
On another occasion in May the following year, Milne seized her by the throat when she asked to be taken home, and choked her and shouted at her, causing her to run to another room and barricade herself in with a table.
After forcing himself in he repeatedly punched and bit her, and threatened to hit her with a mirror that he then threw against a wall.

In a victim impact statement from her family, the court heard that Ms Milne was “a much-loved daughter, sister, aunt, and they are devastated by her death.” The judge said: “Nothing I can do or say can bring her back or ease their grief.”
The pair had entered into a relationship in late 2021 before marrying in September 2022, the court heard. Prosecutors said Kimberly suffered abuse soon after the relationship began, right through to day of her death.
Speaking to police before her death, Kimberly said: “Lee and I were in his home and he went through my phone. He saw messages from other men before we were together. He got angry and started to shout and swear at me.”
Months later, Milne grabbed Kimberly by the hair and pulled her to the ground before apologising and claiming he was “not that type of guy”.
In late 2022, Kimberly said she found her husband had allegedly been cheating on her. Milne responded by getting “angry” and knocking Kimberly unconscious. She later accused him of adultery again, before trying to barricade herself in a room.
She told police at the time: “Lee repeatedly punched my ribs and I was begging him not to hurt me but he was not listening. I felt unsafe so I decided not to leave that night. I slept with a knife under my pillow as I was so frightened of him.”
On the night Kimberly died, a witness told the trial she saw a man and woman appearing to have an argument outside a flooring store at the Kingsway Retail Park in Dundee.
The man was “trapping” the woman against the wall, the witness said, adding that the woman was “cowering, scared. She did not really do much. There was not much she could do.
“It did not look like (she was responding to the man) – she was seeming too frightened,” the witness said. The interaction, captured on CCTV, was played in court.
As well as the eight years in prison, Lady Drummond gave Milne to a three-year extended sentence, meaning he will be on licence following his release.
