Fox News halts for breaking announcement – and it’s bad news for Trump | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Fox News halted its regular programming to air a breaking news update in another brutal blow to President Donald Trump. On Wednesday (March 19), host Tomi Lahren returned to the helm to discuss the latest stories hitting the headlines. It didn’t take long before things turned political as she discussed the worrying impact of the latest inflation report.

She admitted: “I’m really, really not happy about this”, as she warned Americans that there’s a 95% chance March will be even worse for families. The broadcaster went on: “This does not look good to me, and I don’t like sitting here after everything we’re talking about and saying, ‘Okay, but it’s just one month’ because unfortunately, March is guaranteed 95% chance to get worse from what we saw.

“Core goods prices are up by 3/10ths of 1%, you’re up 4.3 per cent year over year – that’s just core goods prices. Services inflation was up 6/10ths of 1% in December, 8/10ths of 1% in January, and 5/10ths of 1% in February. It’s going down, but it’s still increasing overall.”

She continued: “Year over year, we’re up 3.8 per cent. What I don’t like is that prices rose in food, alcohol, investment advice, security, fuels, trucking, and inpatient care. They fell for apparel and footwear, but they’re rising, and I just don’t like it.

“Fresh and dry vegetables were 49%, so there’s something going on, maybe it’s a one-off, which we could debate, but I don’t like the trend, and I don’t like that we’re going to sit here and think that March is going to get worse.”

It didn’t take long before viewers flocked to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their fears and concerns online. One user penned: There are a LOT of people who previously were NOT paying attention (because, smugly, ‘I don’t pay attention to politics’) who are going to start paying attention.

“And that worn-out old ‘It’s Biden’s fault’ ain’t going to cut it, not even for the most die-hard of Trumpers.” Another agreed: “You know what Trump’s response will be, either A) it’s Biden’s fault or B) it’s all fake.” A third echoed: “Both Hillary Clinton AND Kamala Harris warned us about Trump. The voters still elected a thrice-married narcissistic megalomaniac.”

It comes after the Republican leader took yet another swipe at the UK and Sir Keir Starmer, as a war of words between the two countries over the Iran war threatens to completely boil over. The US President has launched several brutal attacks against the UK Government in recent weeks, over what he claims is the country’s slow response to helping America in the conflict with Iran.

Sir Keir Starmer has, in particular, come in for heavy criticism, slamming him as “no Winston Churchill” in a savage takedown. Mr Trump said he is “disappointed” by the Prime Minister over his initial refusal to send aircraft carriers to the Middle East.
