GMA Playlist artist and proud trans singer Henri G has officially entered her R&B era. Following the release of her debut ballad, she returns with “Hindi Ko Masabi,” which captures the coldness and jitters of an unspoken love and adoration.
“Hindi Ko Masabi” encapsulates the lingering push and pull of confessing and questioning one’s love for the other. The song acts as a direct message to the person she wants to confess to, along with the denials and realizations of loving someone from afar.
The song was written and composed by Roxanne E. Fabian, produced by Rocky S. Gacho, and mastered by Harry A. Bernardino.
Henri G. shared that the single is incredibly different from her debut ballad single. “It’s a song about the ‘what ifs’ and the ‘almost’ of a romantic confession to someone. “Confessing was one of the longest battles I experienced. Sometimes I get shy to say what I truly feel because sometimes I can’t show it,” she shared.
The singer’s favorite line is these painful words that fully grasped the whole essence of the song: “Hindi ko masabing mahal kita.” “I find the lyric disheartening, as it creates the question, ‘Why? Why can’t I say that I love you?’” she shared.
Henri G. wishes that the listeners hold on to the song as inspiration to have a stronger heart when confessing their love to someone they value. She said, “I hope that whatever you want to confess, you find the courage to do so.”
As an emerging trans artist in the industry, Henri G is immensely delighted to be working with GMA Playlist again, which, for her, is a comfortable platform for expressing herself across different music genres. “As a transgender woman, I am incredibly happy that I was given another chance to release my music.”
“Hindi Ko Masabi” by Henri G is now available on major streaming platforms worldwide.
