Actress and author Dhruvee Haldankar hosted an event in Mumbai to launch her book Beyond the Frame, Beyond Fear – The Extraordinary Life of Cinematographer Deepak Haldankar, a biography on her father, cinematographer and documentary filmmaker Deepak Haldankar. The book traces Haldankar’s journey in documentary filmmaking and his work documenting people, culture and social issues. The biography was launched by actress and singer Ila Arun, who shares a long association with the Haldankar family. The evening was hosted by actor and radio personality Mantra Mugdh.The event also featured a discussion on documentary filmmaking, artificial intelligence in cinema and the future of storytelling. Speakers included Rama Pandey, Prakash Magdum, Gulfam Khan, Sharbani Deodhar, Harish Bhimani, Siddharth Kak, Sharavati Prabhu, veteran cameraman Ajit Nayak — known for his work on the TV series Ramayan — and filmmaker Vipin Chowbal. Among those present at the event were Rukhsar Rehman, Roop Durgapal, Ishita Arun, Shilpa Mehta, Sujata Mehta, Rinhee Subberwal, Sharmila Cirvante, Pooja Seth, Heital Puniwala and Hansa Singh.
