Javed Khan: I definitely plan to move into Bollywood

Javed Khan, who has been associated with Rajasthan’s regional entertainment space, is gearing up for the theatrical release of his debut film Offline. Before stepping into films, he worked across music videos, commercials and sports-based programming.Speaking about the film, he says, “Offline is not just a film, it’s a responsibility. Representing Rajasthan on a national platform pushed me to train harder than ever. I wanted every punch and every emotion to feel real for the audience.”

The film is rooted in Rajasthan’s cultural landscape while aiming for a wider appeal. He says, “Offline blends intense emotions, powerful action sequences, and a story about courage and justice. It follows the journey of a man who rises against adversity and fights for what is right. While it is set against Rajasthan’s cultural backdrop, the emotions are universal.”That universality, he believes, is key to taking the film beyond the regional circuit and positioning it for a wider release. He says, “The theme is something audiences everywhere can relate to. It speaks about struggle, bravery and standing up for justice. Regional stories today can travel beyond linguistic boundaries, and this film has the storytelling strength to connect across the country. It also has the right mix of story, action and scale for a pan-India release, with strong character arcs and high-intensity sequences. Today, viewers are open to discovering powerful stories from different parts of India. I’m not nervous, it’s more excitement for me, as this film gives me a bigger platform to represent the Rajasthani language. Taking the film pan-India did increase the budget, with more investment in production, dubbing and marketing, but it makes sense as the film is designed to reach a larger audience.”Although Offline marks his debut, he has been associated with the entertainment space for some time. He says, “I have been connected with media and entertainment for some time. Before this film, I worked in two Bollywood album songs, a Punjabi album, as well as Rajasthani and Haryanvi music projects. I’ve also done commercials and was associated with IPL shows for about four years. Apart from that, I’ve worked as a cricket expert on news channels, doing pre-match and post-match analysis and participating in sports debates. I’m also registered as an artiste with a radio station.”Looking ahead, he is clear about his next steps. He shares, “I definitely have plans to move into Bollywood. My next film is already in the planning stage, and its announcement will be made very soon. Since I am from Rajasthan, it was always my wish to do my first film in Rajasthani cinema, and that is about to happen. After that, my next project will be in Bollywood.”He also recalls learning from working with established actors. He shares, “My experience working with Randeep Hooda was inspiring. During an advertisement shoot, I got the chance to interact with him, and it was a great learning experience. He emphasised that your focus should always be on delivering your best performance, while everything else on set is secondary. His dedication and professionalism left a strong impression on me. Working with Yashpal Sharma taught me a lot about humility and discipline. Sudesh Berry’s energy and dedication were remarkable, and Neelu Vaghela’s simplicity and experience also left a lasting impact.”
