Tucked away in Waterloo in South London, Molly Mc’s is the kind of place that doesn’t just serve pints, it serves personality by the bucketload. We popped in as two besties on Bank Holiday Friday, and let’s just say we struck gold at the end of this particular rainbow.

First things first, the Guinness. You cannot walk into an Irish bar and not test the black stuff, that would be pure shamelessness. Thankfully, Molly Mc’s delivers a pint so smooth it could talk its way out of a leprechaun’s contract. Creamy, rich, and poured with care, it was love at first sip.

What really sets this place apart is its brilliant twist, an Irish singing pub with a Thai inspired menu, and somehow it works like a dream. It is the kind of unexpected pairing that sounds mad on paper but feels absolutely spot on once you are tucked in with a pint in hand.

Food wise, we went all in because when in doubt, just say yes, very Irish of us. The popcorn chicken spice bag was an absolute belter. Crispy bites, fiery peppers, chips, spring onion, and that glorious curry sauce tying it all together. It was the kind of dish that makes you pause mid bite and say sweet mother of spuds, that is good.

Then came the Mc and Sons beef curry, a Southern Thai braised beef dish served with crispy roti. Tender, flavour packed, and just the right level of indulgent, it felt like a warm hug, if hugs came with incredible seasoning and a side of I will be thinking about this for days.

But Molly Mc’s is not just about food and drink, it is about the craic. And the craic was mighty. The crowd was lively, laughter flowed as freely as the pints, and there was that unmistakable Irish charm in the air, the kind that makes strangers feel like old friends within minutes. You do not visit Molly Mc’s, you become part of it.

The décor leans into a rustic, old school Irish pub vibe, worn wood, cosy corners, and character in every nook. It has that lived in feel that tells you stories have been made here and many more are on the way.

Bonus points, it is dog friendly, because every good pub needs a few four legged regulars, and they even offer karaoke, ideal if you have had just enough Guinness to believe you are the next big thing.

Named after the formidable Molly Mc Elhinney, the pub carries a real sense of heritage and heart. You can feel the legacy, strong, spirited, and full of life.

All in all, Molly Mc’s is a shamrock solid spot for great food, proper pints, and unforgettable nights. We came for a drink and left with stories worth toasting. Sláinte!
