Netflix bets big on this Telugu disaster in Hindi, promotes with a new title — Will it work?

Funky

Vishwak Sen’s latest comedy entertainer, Funky, directed by Anudeep KV, emerged as a massive flop at the ticket windows. Naga Vamsi produced this flick. Despite featuring known names and coming from a prominent production house, Funky failed to post even a respectable opening.

The movie will stream on Netflix starting tomorrow (March 13) in multiple languages. Interestingly, the digital platform is betting big on this Tollywood failure as it is looking to push the film in Hindi. The dubbed version is titled Mazzaq, and the Hindi trailer is being marketed heavily.

In the past, many Telugu flop films found new life on YouTube, and we need to see if Funky can gain traction among Hindi audiences with its Netflix streaming and the platform’s aggressive push. Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead.

Co-produced by Sai Soujanya under the banner of Fortune Four Cinemas, the film also stars Naresh Vijayakrishna, Easwari Rao, Sampath Raj, and Jayakrishna in key roles. Bheems Ceciroleo composed the music.
