Actor Pratik Gandhi is discovering a quieter rhythm off-screen, one shaped by music and the mountains of Meghalaya.Currently shooting in the Northeast, the actor, known for his performances in Scam 1992, Madgaon Express, Do Aur Do Pyaar, and other films, recently shared a glimpse of his lesser-known musical side on Instagram, where he was seen playing the handpan, a percussion instrument he now carries along on outdoor schedules.
“I like playing the handpan. Well, I did learn how to play the tabla from my father and then took a little formal training too during high school. I also play djembe. The handpan is also a percussion instrument, and so, I learned how to play it with practice over the years. I have recently started travelling with my handpan to the long outdoor shoot schedules that i have. It really is meditative and calming for me, just like my workouts,” he says. For the actor, music has become a personal retreat amid the demands of filming, and he blends work with wellness as he turns to music as a source of calm amidst a demanding schedule. And Meghalaya, with its raw, untouched beauty, has only deepened that experience.“Currently I’m shooting in Meghalaya. This place is all about clouds, mountains, waterfalls and absolute beauty. There is so much abundance of nature all around. I felt this was the best place to play this calming instrument,” he adds.
