Prospect has blasted Reform UK’s manifesto for the Holyrood election, which they launched at its Scottish Conference on Thursday, 19 March.
Among the pledges in the manifesto are proposals to scrap all net zero subsidies and to create a Department of Government Efficiency to “cut waste and duplication.”
Prospect General Secretary Mike Clancy, responding to Reform UK’s Scottish manifesto, said:
“Just like in Wales, Reform’s Scottish manifesto is an all-out assault on public sector workers and on the environment.
“Reform policies would have a devastating impact on services people rely on in Scotland, just as they have done in local government where Reform are in power.
“This is a manifesto that prioritises hardline ideology over evidence and expertise, promising to overrule the scientific consensus on clean energy and ignore experts.
“People in Scotland will need to choose in May whether they value public services and clean energy or if they want to replicate the total disaster of Reform’s Trumpian economics.”
The Scottish Parliament election is being held on Thursday, 7 May.
