According to a Reuters report, the European financial technology company Revolut intends to locate approximately 40% of its worldwide employees in India by the conclusion of 2026. This move is part of an expansion of its global capability center located in the country.

The firm plans to add 1,600 positions to its Indian center through 2026, which would increase its total staff there to 5,500. These new roles will cover areas including product development, support, and financial services operations like payment processing. Revolut’s overall global employee count currently stands at 12,000.

The company had previously committed a substantial sum of British pounds to its India business and global capability center over a five-year period. Such centers in India have evolved from their earlier roles and now manage various functions including operations and research for their parent organizations.

A senior talent acquisition executive at Revolut described India as possessing a profound and dynamic talent market. The executive stated that the technical hub in India is crucial for the company’s international growth, citing the technical skill and ambition found there as reasons for establishing a long-term presence.

The expansion of the global capability center is distinct from Revolut’s local Indian business operations. A senior company leader in India noted that roughly one-third of the firm’s processes are already managed from India, encompassing routine transaction monitoring and certain alert systems. Intelligence developed from the Indian operations, such as verification processes, has been shared with other international markets to enhance procedures.

Revolut, established in 2015 and valued at a high figure, is authorized in India to issue specific payment instruments. The company aims to introduce its product in the Indian market in the following quarter.
