The incident happened in Minnie Street, Keighley, on Tuesday (March 31), at 11pm.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson says: “The victim disturbed two males breaking into his Volkswagen Crafter van.
“They were chased off but managed to get away with several power tools.
“The suspects were wearing dark clothing, face coverings and gloves.
“Anyone with CCTV footage that may have captured the offenders’ faces is asked to please contact West Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote the crime occurrence number 13260184170.”
