Yash hails Kiara Advani as ‘such a professional actor’, reveals how he and Geetu Mohandas protected her during ‘Toxic’ shoot: ‘We were like bouncers and bodyguards’

During the recent launch event for the film ‘Toxic’, acclaimed actor Yash lauded his co-star, Kiara Advani, for her extraordinary commitment to the project, particularly given that she was pregnant throughout much of the production. He openly shared his profound admiration for her professionalism, highlighting how he and director Geetu Mohandas took considerable measures to support and safeguard her on set. Yash vividly described their protective roles, likening themselves to “bouncers and bodyguards” committed to ensuring her well-being during the demanding shoot. He emphatically stated that Kiara’s unparalleled dedication was instrumental in imbuing the film with a truly “special” quality.

When specifically asked to articulate his thoughts on Kiara’s contribution, Yash responded with deep respect, asserting, “Kiara is, how do I say this, I think she is such a professional actor.” He further elaborated on his initial concerns about the intensity of the role, acknowledging, “She (Kiara) came into this film- I was a little worried because it was too demanding.” However, any reservations were quickly dispelled by her unwavering resolve.

Yash recounted a specific anecdote about a rain sequence, a particularly challenging type of shot. He recalled asking Kiara if she had ever filmed such a scene before, to which she admitted it was her first time. The actor expressed genuine astonishment at her complete immersion and “dedicated herself” to the project, despite the physically strenuous nature of the production. He stressed that even while carrying her baby, Kiara approached every aspect of the role with “100% commitment.” Both Yash and director Geetu Mohandas were acutely aware of Kiara’s pregnancy and her need for extra care. Yash confessed, “I was more worried, Geetu was more worried. We were like bouncers and bodyguards, used to take care of her.” He concluded his heartfelt tribute by expressing profound gratitude, saying, “Thankyou Kiara. This one is special.”

It was later revealed that Kiara had been pregnant during the filming of ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’, a fact that remained largely private for a significant portion of the shoot. In December 2025, she candidly disclosed that she had worked through seven months of her pregnancy, with initial knowledge of her condition confined to director Geetu Mohandas and the producer. She also shared poignant details about her practice of speaking to her baby during emotionally taxing scenes. Her pregnancy notably influenced the production timeline. Principal photography for ‘Toxic’ commenced in August 2024, but once her pregnancy necessitated adjustments, the remaining segments of the shoot were relocated to Mumbai in June 2025. The filming ultimately concluded in October 2025.

In July 2025, Kiara and her husband, fellow actor Sidharth Malhotra, joyfully welcomed their baby girl, whom they named Saraayah Malhotra. This personal milestone underscored the remarkable resilience and dedication Kiara demonstrated throughout the demanding entertainment production.
