The examination was conducted over two shifts on June 14, 2026, and June 17, 2026, across 544 examination centers strategically located in all 38 districts of Bihar. Out of the valid applicants, 5,34,735 candidates appeared for the highly competitive examination.
To maintain the integrity of the examination, a strict code of conduct was enforced. Unfortunately, 80 candidates were disqualified due to instances of misconduct and indiscipline. Consequently, the answer sheets of 5,34,669 valid candidates were thoroughly evaluated.
Next Steps: Physical Efficiency and Standard Tests
According to the established recruitment rules, candidates were required to secure a minimum of 30% marks in the written examination to be considered for the subsequent stages. Furthermore, the selection process stipulated that five times the number of available vacancies would be shortlisted for the PET and PST.
The CSBC noted that there were insufficient eligible candidates for seats reserved for ex-servicemen and Home Guards. In accordance with applicable regulations, these remaining seats were subsequently filled by non-Home Guard candidates.
The shortlisted 19,681 candidates, including those who met the cut-off scores, will now advance to the physical testing phase. This rigorous stage encompasses a race, high jump, shot put, and detailed physical measurements to assess their fitness and suitability for the roles.
Reservation for Women Candidates
In a significant move towards gender equality and empowerment, the recruitment rules incorporate a 35% horizontal reservation for women who are native to Bihar. This provision has been meticulously applied during the preparation of the list of eligible candidates for the next stage, ensuring fair representation.
Candidates who have successfully cleared the written examination are strongly advised to regularly check the official CSBC website for further instructions regarding the schedule and conduct of the PET and PST. The CSBC has published the examination results and the roll numbers of the successful candidates on its website. Candidates can use their roll numbers to verify their qualification for the PET and PST stage.
