Renowned playback singer Shaan and his wife, Radhika Mukherjee, have made a significant splash in Mumbai’s high-end real estate market. The couple has invested a staggering Rs 48 crore to acquire a sprawling 6,300-square-foot luxury apartment in the upscale Bandra West neighborhood.
The property, situated in the prestigious Palmera complex on Turner Road, represents one of the most notable celebrity real estate acquisitions of the year. According to official records, the transaction was registered on August 20, with the deal facilitated by Propbay India LLP.
A Masterpiece of Real Estate
The expansive residence is the result of a complex architectural consolidation. The couple has merged three separate apartment units spread across one and a half floors on the 18th level of the Palmera building.
The Palmera project, developed by Pantheion Real Estate, carries a rich local history; it stands on the land that was formerly occupied by a bungalow owned by veteran actress Mala Sinha. The 22-storey building is designed for elite living, offering premium amenities, including a swimming pool and an exclusive 23rd-floor bar. While the deal is finalized, the property is currently awaiting its Occupancy Certificate (OC) before the couple can complete their move.
Returning to His Roots
For the singer, the move to Bandra is deeply sentimental. The neighborhood holds a special place in his heart as it was the residence of his late father, the esteemed musician Manas Mukherjee. By securing this property, Shaan is effectively reconnecting with his family’s roots in one of Mumbai’s most iconic suburbs.
A Career Milestone
The high-profile property purchase coincides with a major professional milestone for the singer. After a two-decade-long hiatus, Shaan has reunited with actor Saif Ali Khan to record the song "Mera Hero Hai Woh" for the upcoming film Haiwaan.
The collaboration has been met with excitement from fans and critics alike, as many consider Shaan’s voice to be the definitive musical match for the actor. Speaking on the reunion, Shaan expressed his gratitude to composer Pritam, noting, "Lately on social media, there’s a belief that one of the best matches is Shaan’s voice on Saif’s. It finally happened after 2007, and I feel very indebted to Pritam-da for making it happen."
Directed by the legendary Priyadarshan and starring both Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar, Haiwaan is highly anticipated and is currently slated for a theatrical release on September 11, 2026.
