NMC Releases Comprehensive List of PG Medical Students for 2025-26 Academic Session

The National Medical Commission (NMC), through its Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), has officially published the list of candidates admitted to various Postgraduate medical courses for the 2025-26 academic session. This release covers students enrolled in MD, MS, and Diploma Broad Specialty programmes across medical institutions nationwide.

The move comes after a prolonged period of coordination between the commission and medical colleges. According to the official public notice, the records of 52,690 students have been successfully compiled and uploaded to the commission’s database.

Ensuring Regulatory Compliance

The publication of this list marks the conclusion of a rigorous data collection exercise. The PGMEB had previously issued multiple directives to medical colleges, emphasizing the mandatory requirement to report admission details. While the initial deadline for these submissions was set for April 15, 2025, the commission granted extensions to ensure all institutions had sufficient time to comply, with the final window closing on June 8, 2026.

This transparency measure is designed to streamline the verification of student records, ensuring that all admissions are authenticated and aligned with the standards set by the medical education authority.

Guidance for Students with Missing Records

The NMC has addressed potential discrepancies, acknowledging that some students might find their names absent from the published data despite having completed the formal admission process.

The commission has provided clear instructions for those affected:

  • Verify Immediately: Students are strongly advised to check the NMC list to confirm their enrollment status.
  • Coordinate with Authorities: If a name is missing, students should not delay. They are urged to contact their respective college administration immediately.
  • Liaise with DME: Colleges, in turn, are expected to assist these students in coordinating with the concerned Directorate of Medical Education (DME) or the relevant counselling authority to rectify the error.

Addressing these discrepancies promptly is crucial, as the NMC uses this database to validate the legitimacy of medical training and eligibility for future examinations.

Call to Action for Institutions

The PGMEB has reiterated that all medical colleges and stakeholders must take formal note of this notification. As the process of documentation is critical for maintaining the integrity of postgraduate medical education, the commission expects full cooperation from institutions to ensure every admitted student’s record is accounted for.

Students currently pursuing their courses are advised to prioritize this verification process to avoid any potential administrative hurdles in their academic journey.
