Delivery driver distressed after ‘disgraceful’ Whiston attack

An investigation has been launched into the incident

A delivery driver was targeted in a “disgraceful” attack, with an investigation now underway to find those responsible. At around 7.55pm on Friday, March 27, a delivery driver was assaulted by two youths on Lickers Lane in Whiston.

The driver suffered injuries to his face and leg, with damage also being caused to the man’s scooter before the two children ran away. Merseyside Police detectives are conducting CCTV enquiries and are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Graeme Kehoe said: “This was a disgraceful attack on a man going about his work in the area.

“He has been left with physical injuries and was understandably distressed to have been targeted in such a way.

“Our initial enquiries have yet to identify those responsible, so we are asking today that anyone comes forward, whether you witnessed this incident or lives nearby and has CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage.

“You may hold vital evidence as we continue to investigate.”
